Tips to help you make a little money from home in difficult times

Pound Signs In The Sky As A Sign Of A Windfall, money, cash

During this Covid-19 period many of us are stuck at home with time on our hands.  Can we use this time productively and make a little extra cash?  Here are some suggestions:

    Shift some books

For book lovers losing any book is difficult. Be pragmatic: review your bookshelves and decide which books you’ll re-read or pass on to friends or family. If you’re honest, the rest are simply decoration and you can sell them.  Amazon is the obvious place to register as a seller. Ensure you can post what you are offering for sale or get everything ready for when you can. https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/sw/SSR/R2Lv2/step/SellerInformation

Alternatively, try We Buy Books (https://www.webuybooks.co.uk/sell-books-online/) or Music Magpie (https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/sell-books).

    Freebies for key workers

NHS staff to teachers and supermarket workers, these are just a few of the key people who are keeping our country running at the moment. I have been looking around to see if I can find any freebies for them, so do share with any you know along with everyone’s thanks.

UBER is giving away 300,000 free rides and Uber Eats meals to NHS staff to say thanks during the coronavirus crisis

Overall, the heroes of the frontline can claim 200,000 free trips worth up to £15 each and 100,000 meals worth £10 for free. TO claim the freebies, you’ll need to to create an Uber or Uber Eats account linked to your NHS or HSC email address. To get a free ride, you then tap “wallet” on the Uber app, add the relevant promo …

Broadband providers lifting data limits during Covid-19 lockdown

Broadband providers are to relax prices and lift data caps to keep the nation online during the coronavirus pandemic.

All data allowance caps on current fixed broadband services will be removed in a deal struck by the government and telecommunications providers and this will help vulnerable people stay connected.

Companies such as BT/EE, Openreach, Virgin Media, Sky, TalkTalk, O2, Vodafone, Three, Hyperoptic, Gigaclear, and KCOM have pledged that anyone who is struggling to pay their bill due to the pandemic will be treated fairly and appropriately supported.

The firms have also agreed to offer generous new mobile and landline packages to ensure people are connected and the most vulnerable continue to be supported. These could put users in line for packages featuring data boosts at low prices and free calls from their landline or mobile.…

Four top ways of saving money when shopping online

This weekend I have done a lot of online shopping as I am not feeling great and have a few birthdays to sort out.

Anyway, while I was buying mugs, t-shirts, cards etc I thought I’d share the four ways I have saved money today:

    1. Use a cashback site

I use Topcashback and over £1,100 in my pocket explains exactly why! See my account overview below. It’s so easy to use, just type in the online retailer and see if they are listed. If there are make sure you click through from the cashback site and they log your visit and when you spend and keep the item, they will give you cash.

    2. Look for voucher codes

Just type in the retailer and month you are shopping in and the word voucher and …

Tips for getting a good deal on multi-car insurance

Is it time to stop insuring each car in your household separately? Multi-car insurance has increased in popularity over recent years and there are some decent deals around at the moment.

Not only is it more convenient, but it also has the potential to deliver strong cost savings for your annual premiums.

    What is multi-car insurance?

Rather than insuring each car in your household separately, you can choose to cover every vehicle under one policy. As long as the car is registered at that address, it can be included. The car owner doesn’t have to be a family member.

What’s so great about multi-car insurance?

The first benefit is convenience. Once you get it set up, everything is in one place. All you have to do is fill in one application and you’re good to …

Why you should give My Money Pocket a go

You’ve probably heard about cashback sites they’ve been around for quite a while (you know the ones, the websites that pay you back for shopping). What you don’t often see is the appearance of a brand-new site, especially with the two largest ones dominating the cashback space. My Money Pocket is that brand new site, so here are some reasons that you might want to give it ago when compared with the others.

    1. Modern Design – One of the first things you may notice about My Money Pocket compared to older cashback sites like Quidco and TopCashback is the design. My Money Pocket has a bright, vibrant, and modern design, which feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the dated and dull older cashback sites. On top of the aesthetics, the site …
