Temu – was it worth it?

I kept seeing ads for Temu and Shein and decided to check out Temu. I wanted some cushion covers and I guess my ad preferences on Facebook knew about that and threw up Temu.

Temu is an online marketplace that gained popularity for offering heavily discounted goods through aggressive social media advertising. Launched in April 2023, it has become the most downloaded shopping app in the UK. The platform provides a wide range of products at remarkably low prices, using a business model that involves vendors shipping directly from China to customers worldwide, cutting out middlemen.

I managed to get some free cushion inserts, that I cut in half and made into rectangular cushions, now I needed some covers and that’s where Temu came in. Looking at places on the high street…£8 was the …

Four top ways of saving money when shopping online

This weekend I have done a lot of online shopping as I am not feeling great and have a few birthdays to sort out.

Anyway, while I was buying mugs, t-shirts, cards etc I thought I’d share the four ways I have saved money today:

    1. Use a cashback site

I use Topcashback and over £1,100 in my pocket explains exactly why! See my account overview below. It’s so easy to use, just type in the online retailer and see if they are listed. If there are make sure you click through from the cashback site and they log your visit and when you spend and keep the item, they will give you cash.

    2. Look for voucher codes

Just type in the retailer and month you are shopping in and the word voucher and …

Can Flubit really get you the best price online?

I remember seeing the Flubit team at an internet event last year. The company promised to beat prices for products when shopping online. It’s taken me a while, but I wanted to share what they are about, so here’s all you need to know. I would love to know what your experiences of Flubit are in the comments below.

    What is Flubit.com?

Flubit.com is on online marketplace, much like Amazon or eBay but with one major difference – instead of listing pages and pages of various products, offers and discounts, you simply enter the URL (that’s the web-link, e.g. www….) of the Amazon item you wish to buy, and Flubit returns a better offer up to 15% lower on that exact item with one of their own suppliers.

    Why should you use Flubit.com?

    There …

Get paid to shop with Top CashBack

A website that pays you money as you shop, now I wasn’t sure at first, but what did I have to lose?

I was already signed up to Quidco. While I did use Quidco for two years and got paid £732, I did have to pay for the privilege, so I switched. BTW, the amount is high as I brought quite a few electricals and expensive bits of gear.

I came across Top CashBack and made the move. There are other similar sites around, but Top CashBack doesn’t charge you. It makes money from ads, whereas sites like Quidco charge, if only a little bit, but it’s a charge and I like things for free. I hear that now, however, that Quidco has also introduced a free service, so that may be worth checking out.…
