Aldi outdoor clothing range – Specialbuy

Rain and wind needn’t spoil exploring the great outdoors. Perfect for amblers, family outings and intrepid explorers, Aldi’s Outdoor range of clothes and footwear for adults and children goes into stores on 11 September, available while stocks last. And if you missed Aldi’s outdoor clothing Specialbuy or can’t get to a store, check the bottom of my post for some alternatives.

Whatever the weather, keep little feet happy with Children’s Warm Lined Rainboots (£5.99). Perfect for playing outdoors, the boots mean kids can have a splashing good time, without having to suffer in soggy socks.

Ensure tiny toes stay extra toasty in Aldi’s Children’s Welly Socks (£2.29). And young fans are sure to fall in love with Aldi’s Children’s Character Umbrellas (£2.99), which feature favourites such as Planes, Spiderman, Disney Princesses or Minnie Mouse.…

£100 off mens suit at House of Fraser

Does your man need a new suit and have House of Fraser on the list of shops to consider? Well bring in an old suit (jacket and trousers in good condition and suitable to wear to a job interview) and House of Fraser will give you a £100 voucher to spend in store on a new suit.

Men of the UK are being asked to surrender their old suits for a good cause. Whether they are a little tighter than they used to be or it’s just time for an upgrade, men can donate their unwanted threads at House of Fraser stores as part of the Suited & Booted campaign. The donated suits will go to vulnerable men, kitting them out in style for job interviews, while customers will snap up a £100 voucher to …

Another online designer outlet – Fashionista Outlet

After my post about SecretSales and my penchant for TKMaxx, I started to look around a bit more to see if I could find other designer outlets online. I found Fashionista Outlet and here’s what you need to know about the retailer.

    1. What is Fashionista Outlet?

www.fashionista-outlet.com is an online retailer of discounted designer fashion. The designer outlet offers luxury clothing at competitive prices. Clothing, shoes, bags and accessories are all on offer here, making it a one-stop-shop for discounted designer fashion.

    2. How does the site stand out from competitors?

Fashionista Outlet offers permanent discounts on designer fashion as opposed to the flash sales offered by subscriber-based outlets like SecretSales.  And unlike other online designer outlets such as The Outnet, Fashionista Outlet caters to both men and women.  The company sells worldwide, meaning …

    10 home made beauty products

If you’re looking to save some money on expensive beauty products, then you will be surprised to know that you can make your own DIY products from items in your cupboards at home, and for a fraction of the price you’d pay in the shops. Take a look at the following tips for inspiration.

    1.      Homemade body scrub

Mix 1 cup of sugar (not salt as this will burn the skin) with 2tbsp of olive oil of grape seed oil and mix together in a bowl. Apply to the skin in circular motions for the best affect!

    2.     Smooth legs

Use conditioner or baby oil instead of soap or shaving cream on your legs for an extra smooth affect.

    3.      Homemade Face Wash

Mix 2 teaspoons of baby wash, 2 tablespoons water, 2 tablespoons glycerine …

    Great value new in-shower products

I wanted to share the three items that are currently my favourite things to use in the shower – they are all relatively new to the market. They are Aldi Lacura shower face washes and scrubs, Nivea in-shower moisturisers and Elvive’s new thickening shampoo and conditioners.

Basically they are all beauty and grooming products that save me time in the morning and are good value.

    Lacura facial washes and scrub

As I walked past the toiletries in Aldi I saw the Lacura’s Gentle Face Wash Gel. Since the cost of the face wash is so low – £1.29 for 150 ml – I thought what the heck and bought one, even though my skin has had a bad experience with a Lacura moisturiser (granted it was a few years ago.)

    A little goes a long …

Riding gear at Aldi – special buy

Now I must admit that I do buy Aldi’s ski gear, so was interested to see that they have a new equestrian range for 2014.

I am sad that Aldi do a “once it’s gone it’s gone” policy, but I also like the excitement of thinking what treasure will I find in store this week. Rather like when Tchibo had stores in the UK, I loved those guys too.

Unfortunately, I know that you may read this post after July 2014, the range is in shops from 24 July, so where possible I have listed other places to buy great value riding gear online in case you miss the great deal at Aldi.

I must admit while looking around, I can see that Aldi offers seriously good value and it was too hard to find …

    Mrs Bargain visits Peacocks

Peacocks definitely has thrown off its fuddy duddy image. I went in for the first time in years as a new branch has opened up near me.

What I found was florals, maxi dresses, jumpsuits and much more. The store manager was really sweet and when I asked him what the best sellers were, he took me around the store and showed me about 20 items, including a sort of boho range called Post Script.

I would say that the store catered more for the younger ladies now, from teens to 30s, with a small but decent range for men and much younger children and babies. There is a permanent 10% off for students and the prices were really good compared to Marks and Spencers and Next, but of course you get what you pay …

MakeUp Revolution what to buy – reviews round up

With over 200 products to try at new bargain beauty brand MakeUp Revolution, I decided to do some research and see what the beauty community rate as the best of the range.

Some interesting facts that you should know before you read on – MakeUp Revolution should be in Superdrug stores later this year! When buying from the Superdrug website, delivery is free for orders over £10, collect in store is free, you get points and they accept PayPal.

What I was particularly interested in is the idea of dupes and how MakeUp Revolution offers some products that could substitute much more expensive brands, so I’ve added that information where I can. Anyway, after reading literally stacks of beauty blogs, here are the products that get the most positive reviews and are a hit with …

New budget beauty brand – up the Makeup Revolution

The 200 item Makeup Revolution range is now available at Superdrug online.

Priced at £1 – £12 per item, there is lots to choose from, including items for eyes, lips, face and nails.

My favourite products include some very pretty 12 shade eye palettes, which cost £4, which is awesome value compared to leading brands priced at over £30.

Makeup Revolution also has a £4 foundation in 16 shades to match different skin tones.

The most expensive item is a 100 colour eye shadow palette at £12, but the rest of the items are even cheaper. Here’s a sample of products so you can get an idea of prices:

    Amazing Lip Care – 5 shades, £3 Kajal Liner – 1 shade, £2 Amazing Eye Liner (liquid) – £1.50 Awesome Metal Eye Foils – 5 …

L’Occitane are so generous with freebies

I love L’Occitane en Provence products since discovering while on holiday in France.

The company’s hand wash in Verbena smells so devine and Mr BH and I see it as a big treat. At £18 for 500 ml (eeks) it is a very pricey hand wash. But refills are a tenner at Bicester village though and on eBay and it lasts ages.

I like their soaps too, but again they aren’t cheap. I do find that Soak and Sleep do a similar soap range that cost less.

Anyway, I think that L’Occitane are generous with their freebies. I have today picked up a week’s trial of its Creme Devine face cream, so seven sachets of cream. All I had to do was fill in a form and pick up the sample from a L’Occitane store. …
