With party season around the corner, are you ready to look your best? Here are five quick beauty tips that should save you money and time.
- At home body scrubs: You can easily get silky, smooth skin at home with a homemade body scrub: mix one part olive oil with two parts sugar or salt, then add a few drops of an essential oil (try lavender or grapefruit). Gently massage over your arms and legs before your next shower, then rinse off with warm water.
- Invest in a razor subscription: We all know how much razors can cost and we never know when to purchase a new one. The Dorco Eve 6 razor for women, from £5.45, promises some of the best razor technology around. Not only do Dorco offer exceptional value including free
Yes, you read it right. Did you know that Office has an eBay store, where it sells ex-display and slightly defect shoes online? Well it does.
The shoes start at 99p, and a standard £3.50 postage charge, though they offer a combined shipping discout of up to 10 items, and international shipping from £5. They run both auctions and buy it now. For buy it now, you can shop full price, sale or ex-display.
Office has a listing called New with Defects, which means that it may be in one of the following categories:
- Shop Soiled
- Minor Manufacturing Defect

They provide an image of the exact shoe you are bidding on (and if there is more than one defect they provide an image of each) and a brief description …
Brow bars scare me a little bit, with their prices of £13 – £15 for an eyebrow thread. I can’t be bothered to travel down to the Asian areas to get dirt cheap threading, but Superdrug really suprises me, as they thread for £5.
I get my threading done for a fiver there…the set up is a little bit wierd. You pay up front at the normal till, and then you head to the middle or back of the shop with your receipt, and get your eyebrows done in the store…there is a nice chair, but you are in a store! No barriers, people walking past…
Frankly no one seems to mind and when I see it being done I just walk on by.
Anyway, I collect points when having it done so that’s another …
I’m an okay fan of Aldi’s Lacura skincare products…like their serum brought me out in spots so it’s a no from me, but their Caviar Illumincation Day Cream costs just £6.99 for 50 ml and is “nearly” as good as La Prarie Skin Caviar Luxe at £292! Today’s find for a body moisturiser is really good.
The Laucura spray on moisturiser – just shake up the bottle and thinly spray on…it goes on like a foam…be careful to spray somewhere like the bathroom as until you get used to it, you may end up spraying on other things.
It comes in three flavours pure oatmeal, aloe vera (with argan oil) and cocoa. It’s 200 ml for £1.99 per bottle. I agree with the packaging that it moisturises your skin and leaves it soft and silky …
A recent trip to Superdrug opened my eyes to their own range of products. I must admit when it comes to shampoos and other toiletries, I am a bit of a known brand rather than an own brand fan.
But the funny thing is that a lot of own brand products offer the same features for less. As you may know, I don’t like writing about deals too often as once they are gone. You poor pumpkins remain annoyed that you missed the offer.
So here’s a little round up of some of Superdrug’s lovely products that are low priced or regularly on offer:
Like many women of my age group – fast approaching 40 – I have been stunned by the changes taking place not just on my face but with my hair. It’s getting drier and thinner, you can even see my scalp sometimes, so I jumped at the chance to try out Revolution Hair Concepts’ new anti-ageing hair care range – Noir Caviar. I have tried virtually all the imaginable thickening shampoos, so was ready to try this one.
The range includes products, such as a daily shampoo and conditioner, that aim to regenerates aged and lacklustre hair while giving it back its healthy look – and locks. Perfect I thought!
Noir Caviar’s three step beauty regime for your hair combines the three C’s:
1. Caviar- which has Vitamin D, A , E and B12 …

With summer just around the corner, there’s never been a better time to take to the streets and get exercising – and now runners can look and feel the part for less thanks to the brand new Aldi Specialbuys RUNNING range, in store from 14TH APRIL and available while stocks last.
I got my lovely mitts on some of the gear and I must admit, the quality and sizing is good. My favourite products are the trainers and accesssories, such as wrist straps that you can put your keys or change in. Clothing goes up to 18 in ladies and large for men, so it will cover plenty of runners!
