Glamping in a Wigwam? A Great Last Minute School holiday break for the family
My mates went to Bestival and it sounded awesome, but it meant camping….now that’s not for me. I’m a city girl through and through. However, if you are seeking a last minute break for the remaining weeks of the summer holidays, then you could go for a memorable ‘glamping’ trip.
In the forth of my series on last minute breaks for the school holidays, I’m going to be looking at ‘glamping’, for the likes of me and anyone else who would run a mile from ground sheets, tent pegs and guy ropes, yet would still like to enjoy an outdoors escape with the family.
When I clicked on www.Wigwamholidays.com, I found lots of different ‘glamping’ options at a wide range of UK locations, from the north of Scotland right down to Cornwall.

New app for booking bargain holiday homes
In the third of my last minute travel ideas for the summer holidays, I thought I’d take a look at holidays from a holiday home owner’s point of view, and see how they can offer discounts direct to consumers.
If you own a holiday home, you’ll surely hate to see it empty, particularly during the peak summer months. Many are more than happy to offer huge last minute discounts in order to fill up their calendar.
Snaptrip is a new marketplace that helps owners to offers discounts of up to 50% on the largest collection of self-catered properties in the UK. Which is great for spontaneous holidaymakers!
By partnering with both individual owners and some of the biggest property management agencies in the country, Snaptrip has made searching for your dream cottage a quick and …

Tips for finding bargain last minute breaks in school holidays
If you still haven’t booked your trip for the school holidays, there’s no need to panic. In fact, you may have done yourself a favour by waiting until the last minute, because there are quite often much cheaper deals to be had.
In the second of my series on finding cheaper last minute breaks in the school holidays, I thought I’d find out what the experts advise.
I got in touch with Chris Clarkson, the Managing Director of online travel agency www.sunshine.co.uk, and he’s got some interesting advice, which I’m sharing here.
Empty rooms
Hotels will want to fill up their empty rooms, so prices will often be lower in comparison to if you’d have looked to book in advance, when they didn’t know what demand would be like. Other ways in which you …

A camping experience like no other – Camping in Croatia
As part of a short series on bargain last minute holidays, I’d thought I’d start of with something a little different. Camping is the perfect, fun alternative to a pricey hotel stay, particularly for families with a sense of adventure!
How about somewhere off the beaten track for a camping experience that’s different to the usual med destinations? Croatia has the perfect climate for camping and offers spectacular coastline and clear blue waters of Istria. I have included details of ArenaTurist’s camping offering, with four recommended campsites below.
Prices for camping lots and mobile homes start from just £7 per unit, per night and £5 per person, per night. Plus, there is a fantastic deal on for families – Kids go free in 2015 with a 5 night stay.
Home to Pula, the charming capital …

Can you book your next holiday with just a £10 deposit?
I’ve just paid for my holiday – ouch…we’re going in six weeks time. The deposit was hefty and I paid that back in January. So as I posted my holiday payment cheque, it got me thinking, and I wondered if there was a way you could book your dream holiday, but without paying for so much up front for it.
I wondered what if I could pay a small deposit of £10, rather than a huge lump sum or even a 10% (or more) deposit, which is normally a large amount, especially if it’s a family holiday.
Floridatix.com‘s ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ policy allows you to book easily, without having to commit your full holiday sum as soon as your book. Using the site to book a trip, customers can secure tickets for £10, …

Why do they check these areas?

London Shard views on a budget
The London Shard is the tallest building in Europe, so I totally understand the allure of going to the top.
I tried my best to find discounted Shard tickets and recalled Attractiontix running an offer during February half term for £1 children tickets but haven’t seen that offer again. The cheapest way to go up to the top was to buy tickets in advance at £24.95 per adult and £18.95 per child…they don’t even do family tickets!
You are allocated a time slot and are shown to a high speed lift which takes you to the top. Anyway once up at the very top (72nd floor) it is amazing. You stand at the “broken bit” at the top and it really exciting to be so high, especially in a clear day. I saw lots of …
