New app – reduce currency exchange costs – WeSwap

I use the Post Office and M&S for currency exchange, but am always open to new ideas. Sometimes when my Dutch or French friends come over, I swap Pounds for Euros, and that got me thinking – is there a formal service for this?

I found an app called WeSwap and here’s the skinny on what it is if you want to cut down currency exchange costs.

    What is WeSwap?

WeSwap provides travellers with “very competitive” rates on their foreign currency. This is achieved by enabling travellers across the world to swap currency directly with each other. WeSwap cuts out the need for expensive banks and bureau de change kiosks in the holiday money market.

    Who is it for?

WeSwap can be used by anyone who is planning on travelling abroad, who needs money to …

New budget beauty brand – up the Makeup Revolution

The 200 item Makeup Revolution range is now available at Superdrug online.

Priced at £1 – £12 per item, there is lots to choose from, including items for eyes, lips, face and nails.

My favourite products include some very pretty 12 shade eye palettes, which cost £4, which is awesome value compared to leading brands priced at over £30.

Makeup Revolution also has a £4 foundation in 16 shades to match different skin tones.

The most expensive item is a 100 colour eye shadow palette at £12, but the rest of the items are even cheaper. Here’s a sample of products so you can get an idea of prices:

    Amazing Lip Care – 5 shades, £3 Kajal Liner – 1 shade, £2 Amazing Eye Liner (liquid) – £1.50 Awesome Metal Eye Foils – 5 …

Discounts with new Two Together Railcard – great for couples

On 3 March, the Two Together Railcard was officially launched.

Now I am a fan as I was one of the people who trialled it when it was being tested a year or so ago in the Midlands.

Basically you and one other person (can be anyone) have to both have your photograph on the card to get the discount on most travel after 9.30 am and on weekends/weekends….even on advance fares.

The card’s benefits made travelling to London cheaper for me definitely. However, since the trial and the official launch, there was a lull of about a year, so I went on the hunt for an alternative.

As most of my travel to work is to London, the Network Rail Card has proved very useful. From Banbury onwards, I get a discount. I did …

Free cake and hot drink from John Lewis – new loyalty card

Got my John Lewis loyalty card and welcome pack today after applying a week ago. Guess I’ll have to find room for it with my other loyalty cards.

I got free cake and hot drink vouchers from December 2013 to June 2014. I went with my friend and we used our vouchers to save over £11 for a carrot cake, Victoria sponge and two hot drinks.

I just need to produce the card when I go into the shop and if I shop online, the card is already linked to my online account. If I shop on the phone, I just need to give them the number on the back.
