Do other people’s small jobs for money

As you may know, I do lots of little things for extra cash and renting out my drive is just one of them. There is a whole new peer-to-peer society, where you can rent, drives, houses (AirBNB) to cars…..

So Pickle seems to be a great extension of this. Let me tell you more…ever find yourself with too much to do, and too little time? Daneh Westropp, a busy working mum (who often did) decided enough was enough and launched Pickle, a new lifestyle enhancing app which buys Londoners time by linking people with jobs that need doing to people willing to do them.

And you aren’t limited to the type of jobs you can post… Pickle has huge variety of categories, including ‘miscellaneous’, which means no job is too random, too small too specialist, …

    Freebies for your pets

Did you know that it costs over £1,000 a year to look after a dog and similar to look after a cat? Well here is a new service that could make that a little cheaper.

PetPoints is a new free to use website which helps you with cat, dog (or fish!)  freebies. Popular categories include free cat food, free dog food, free pet app and other free pet stuff.

Most of the offers you see will be freebies whilst others will be heavily discounted or exclusives. What’s the catch? “Well some of our offer partners pay PetPoints to get people to sign-up to their offers which could be free samples or free trials of their services or products”, but you can get free stuff in return for a Facebook like too.

    Here’s some of the …

Save water save money – free water saving packs

I stumbled across this website today and it offers free water saving packs. As long as you’re with water companies that are members of this initiative, including Severn Trent, South West Water, Scottish Water, South Staffordshire Water and many more, you can get a bunch of things for free to help you reduce water consumption.

It’s really easy, you enter your postcode to check if your water company is part of the initiative and then you arrive on a page with lots of water saving goodies.

Among the things you can order for free are the following:

    • Tap Aerator Kit – twin pack of tap aerator inserts to convert two kitchen or bathroom taps
    • ShowerSave – regulate your shower flow to just 8 litres a minute
    • Shower Timer – Spend one less minute in

Four mobile devices connected through one charger

The Olixar 4.8A travel adapter with four USB ports is a life-saver. If you’ve ever been on a train or a trip with the family or on a trip with a group of friends, there’s always a scramble to plug in chargers so that everybody can get their fill of Facebook, Spotify, Clash of Clans or whatever on their portable electronics.

See this image for the charging chaos on a train I travelled on recently. Two of us couldn’t charge at the same time due to the set up of our chargers!

And on another a recent train journey we had four phones to charge and only one socket available to us…what to do? Take turns?

No need with the Olixar travel adapter. It has four usb ports so we could use it to charge …

Calculating the cost of a wedding

My wedding cost a small fortune…luckily my dad paid for it! But that was many years ago and I know of plenty of my friends who are contributing to their own weddings and plenty of others who are getting married for the second time.

So check out this awesomely cool Wedding Cost Calculator that might be useful when you are planning your special day. This interactive, user friendly app considers each element of the cost of a wedding to give ballpark quotes for what each element will cost and helps anyone  looking to budget for their big day. From venue and photographer to place settings and hair and make up costs, I reckon that this calculator do some rough sums to understand what you may be able to afford.

Guy gives away £100 every day

Yes really the above headline is true.  Chris Holbrook, a web developer from London, set up Freepostcodelottery four years ago and it’s still going strong. He is now giving away £100 a day now in his main lottery and has other opportunities for visitors to his site to win: there is a mini-draw after 6 pm every day to win £10. There is also a £10 Stackpot and there is even a survey lottery too.

The prize money is 100% funded by the ads on the site. Your email is not sold on. All you have to do is enter your details including your postcode and then check for the winning postcode daily, or as often as you can. You can be email a daily draw alert, which comes just after 12 pm. The biggest …

Shiply – the low cost courier service

My first experience with Shiply was just over a month ago. The UK-based firm is behind an internet marketplace where you can get bids for your transport job.

We used Shiply to transport a sofa we bought on eBay. The driver was making deliveries up in Manchester and on the way back to London, he brought us our sofa for £53 (in total). The sofa was originally from London.

To get the quotes in from transport providers, I registered, put in some details about pick up and delivery postcodes and what needed to be shipped. I got some quotes and chose a provider. I PayPaled a deposit which covered a Shiply fee and arranged with the driver delivery times and other logistics. I paid the driver the rest of the money when he delivered my …

With more than one million users across the UK listing their nearly new items every day, your neighbourhood could be awash of great finds waiting to be discovered if you use Shpock.

Using the ‘boot sale app for beautiful things’, it is free for anyone with a smartphone or tablet to up-load or locate clothes, play things, fabrics and other essentials right in your neighbourhood.

450+ free stock photos to use in your blog/marketing

The lovely people at Hubspot are giving away loads of free pics that you can use on your blog (dear blogger friends), for your marketing if you have a company or when you just need a picture to illustrate a point.

The guys there asked: “what if marketers (bloggers) didn’t have to shell out more money for photos, obsess about copyright laws, and fret over permissions? What if Hubspot could help solve this issue for them by offering a repository of stock photos that anyone could use completely for free? So that’s exactly what they did. They hired a photographer and took a ton of photos to give away for free — no royalties, fees, or attribution required.

Download 75 free stock photos to use for your business right here.

    And they didn’t stop …
