    Father’s day gift ideas

Sunday, June 16 is just around the corner, so not long to go till we get to pamper and spoil our fathers or grandfathers. I’ve done a round-up of things my other half would like to receive as a father. This time I didn’t work on a budget but looked for things that are a great value, so here we go:

Two-Course Meal with Cocktail for Two at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, City

Enjoy culinary satisfaction with a two-course meal and cocktail at the Marco Pierre White London Steakhouse Co. City in London’s Square Mile. Marco Pierre White is one of the most renowned chefs around, being the youngest ever to receive a Michelin star three times. He can boast Gordon Ramsay as a protegee and his food is simply unrivalled in reputation and quality. …

Get your paws on Aldi’s latest pet range

Aldi’s new Pet Event range is now on sale! As with all Specialbuys, shoppers will need to be quick as once they’re gone, they’re gone. With everything from agility course sets to cosy beds, adorable coats, and cat toys, there’s something for all furry friends. Ooh and check out Molly testing out hers. We put her normal blanket on top so she would get used to it and she had a fab night’s sleep. New kitten shopping list

Just like when a baby comes home with you and there are things you need ready to make the arrival easier…cot, nappies, bedding etc, the same is true for bringing home your new kitten.

There are so many things to buy, you could spend hundreds, but I asked my friend who owns four cats for her advice. Using Amazon often means quick delivery and you can read the reviews too, making it easier to decide if you need them all straight away and whether others think it’s a good buy. I have also added other retailers where I have seen an offer or think the product is worthy of a mention.

    Scratch posts are a must

Cats scratch. There is nothing you can do to change that. The idea of declawing is abhorrent to me, …

Update: Best supermarket for online grocery shopping – a comparison

Time to see how the online supermarket shopping world has changed. I looked at Waitrose, Ocado, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda. I know that Iceland delivers, but I find that their range is limited, so I am not including them.

I evaluated the supermarkets on the following and in each category, the top supermarket comes in at position 1. Of course, one position 1 doesn’t mean everything is fanastic, so my top supermarket is the one that has the highest number of 1s and 2s, and this time we have joint winners: Ocado and Tesco, but remember if you want quality food, go to Waitrose, but be ready to pay more…it’s really up to you, but I hope that my research will help you.

Categories evaluated on were delivery charges, Minimum spend, Delivery …

Stick vacuums – what you need to know before buying

Stick vacuums are a fantastic resource to help you keep your house clean. They are small, lightweight, and easy to use. Available in all shapes and sizes and, depending on your needs, you can find a high quality inexpensive option that will do a great job.

Generally speaking, all stick vacuums fall into one of three categories. The first category is your entry-level stick vacuums. These stick vacuums work best on hardwood floor and low pile carpet. They are lightweight, and will do an adequate job picking up a spill, or for a quick vacuum. They are inexpensive, usually coming in under £40.

The second category of stick vacuums has all the qualities of the first, but is also able to vacuum well on thicker carpet. This takes a lot more suction power, and requires …

Beautiful and bargain Valentine’s gift ideas for under £15

For this year, I have put together some Valentine’s gift ideas and tried to stayed under £15. As per my Home Bargains Valentine’s post, why not put these or other items together and make a gift basket? If you are on a big budget, look out for yellow stickers in the plant sections of supermarkets like Co-op as they are selling off potted plants, and there is always M&S for Dine in for Two for a romantic meal, or Poundland for bits and pieces. There is so much to choose from that I put together a list of my favourite ideas here with images underneath.

I use these face masks and believe they’d make great gifts. 7th Heaven develops beauty and spa products such as face masks, hair  …

New home products in Aldi’s Spring home Special Buy range

Those looking to spruce up their home this Spring need look no further thanks to Aldi’s brand new selection of stylish Spring Home pieces. From furniture and soft furnishings to lamps and ornaments, you’ll find bits and pieces to give your home a fresh new look – available to pre-order online at www.aldi.co.uk from 9th February and to buy in stores on 16th February.

I would say the range is elegant, and subtle.

Aldi’s Beechwood Dining Table (£59.99) is the good addition to any kitchen or dining room.  It features a white finish table top and lacquered beechwood legs for a clean, modern look. Adjustable feet make it easy to counterbalance uneven floors. Pair with the Beechwood Pair of Dining Chairs (£39.99) with a matching design to complete the classic beechwood theme.

    I especially like …

7 ways to help save money in the new year

So is the season to be skint! Don’t worry as you can splurge now and then cut back in the New Year and here’s some hints about how:

    1. Recycle Christmas gifts

Keep all unwanted Christmas gifts that cannot be returned for a refund in the packaging and recycle to save you buying some gifts for people during the year. Be sure to make a note of who the gift was from to avoid giving it back to that person! Keep pretty bows, gift bags and packaging to reuse and avoid buying yourself – under the mattress is a good storage place to keep gift bags nice and flat.

    2. Plans for leftover food

According to www.lovefoodhatewaste.com, in the UK we waste £12.5bn every year throwing away food. With a little planning, we could …
