Review – Buyagift bottomless champagne afternoon tea at the 5* Grosvenor Hotel in London
I was lucky enough to receive a mother’s day gift of a Buyagift bottomless champagne afternoon tea at the rather fancy and gorgeous setting of the 5* Grosvenor House on Park Lane in Mayfair. This wasn’t just any afternoon tea, it’s the Winner of a Highly Commended Award of Excellence at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2018!
The tea was for two and the voucher was worth £99, currently discounted from £110. The beautiful hotel was luxury from the moment the doormen welcomed us. With fabulous fittings and fixtures, the afternoon tea experience was great to follow a morning exploring the V&A and Hyde Park. Exuding luxury and a glamorous interior, it has been a popular venue to visit since its opening in 1929.
I have had a lot of afternoon teas, but this has to …

An easier way to finding voucher codes with this browser extension – Pouch
While I love saving money, I absolutely hate searching for voucher codes.
We’ve all been there before. You are on the checkout page of a website, just about to enter in your card details, when you see the section that says ‘Do you have a voucher code?’.
So what do you do? If you are anything like me, you open up a new tab and then Google search for a voucher code for that site. Then, you are presented with an endless list of search results from voucher code websites all claiming to have amazing discounts.
Except, so much of the time when I try to redeem those voucher codes, they are ‘expired’ or ‘invalid’ or ‘not applicable to my basket’. It is super frustrating. I end up wasting so much time, and don’t even …

Looking to save money in the kitchen – Domu sale might help
The Domu sale is on. With hundreds of stylish and functional kitchen, garden and homeware appliances, the website is worth a look, especially with prices cut on a number of items that can save you money, for example slow cookers for batch cooking!
The sale is on right now across the company’s VonShef and VonHaus brands. If you haven’t heard about Domu, they are a home and lifestyle brand and I think some of their sale products would be of interest to bargain hunters like you and me, such as the VonShef 8-in-1 multi cooker which has 8 different cooking functions including roasting, searing and slow cooking and is perfect for cooking batch meals for the week (or more) – it’s down to £49.99 from £74.99. It really is value for money, as it has …

Black Friday/Cyber Monday – Lucky Voice Karaoke kit deal
Couldn’t resist sharing this one with you! Even though I’m tone deaf (apparently!) I love karaoke, though I don’t fancy a big bulky box, so this Lucky Voice kit is the business.
Lucky Voice, the company behind the kit is ramping up the festive spirit this Black Friday, slashing the prices of an array of at-home Karaoke Kits by up to 33%.
The at-home Karaoke Kits – are perfect for getting the party started and remind me of when we first got Wii Dance…everyone was queuing up to have a go. The microphone comes in a host of fun colours (from hot pink to electric blue). I have the pink cos I am girly. They are usually priced at £50, going up to £60 for the gold version. This year however, Christmas is coming early …

Mrs Bargain Hunter visits Poundstretcher
As a diehard pound and discount store fan, I was excited to make my first ever visit to Poundstretcher.
Like my visits to Aldi, I had to get in the car for this one as the nearest store is just under four miles away, but as it’s on the same bit of town as another Aldi and a lot of other fab discount stores like Wilkinsons. I am getting the feeling that you’ll only find Poundstretcher in “discount” locations or parts of town, and I hadn’t visited before as I usually didn’t get down that far this strip of shops.
Anyway, first impressions were mixed. I could see some great enticements outside, but when I got in the store, I was hit immediately with the dried food and tins aisle….let’s just say, I was a …

Aldi’s Specialbuys Halloween range now in store
So I went to Aldi at the weekend and picked up my mum’s shopping, and picked up a couple of things for Halloween too. Wicked witches, ghoulish ghosts and scary skeletons really need look no further than Aldi this Halloween.
They‘ve got some creepy costumes, including a Children’s Dressing Up Set (£4.99) available in a witch, bat or scary skeleton design. Adults can also join in the fun, with an Adults’ Halloween Costume, a devilishly good steal at just £7.99 making it easy to transform into a Witch, Vampire or Skeleton. The outfits don’t come for larger peeps, so if you’re an 18 women, you’ll have to wear something else but go big on the Spooky Face Paint Kit (£3.99).
The Children’s Halloween Boppers Spectacles (£1.79) are for I’d say children younger than …

Gorgeous VQ Retro Mk II Dab radio – now £89.99 at Sainsbury’s stores
Wow, this VQ Retro Mk II radio is just gorgeous, a great gift idea or just a beautiful piece of tech that will look stunning in your home.
Currently the radio and rechargeable battery pack are a steal at £89.99 at Sainsbury’s stores – this bundle is usually a minimum of £120 so a decent saving, the battery pack which makes it portable alone being around £20 – £30. Check out PriceSpy to confirm.
The radio is huge and the guys at VQ were kind enough to send me one to review – dimensions are 30 x 11.5 x 20.5 cm, so – so I just used it as plugged in rather than using it as a portable radio.
As well as being a DAB radio, it’s a handy and stylish docking station with …
